Annual Jonah Chili Supper February 17

13 Jan

Mark your calendars – it’s CHILI time again!

Something New & Sweet

7 Jan

Mama J’s in the Exchange Center has two new items that are really tasty!

First is a raspberry swirl – sort of like a cinnamon swirl but better. Has a very thin clear sugar icing that is perfect and lets the raspberry taste dominate.

Second is a lemon tart – a big tart filled with tart lemon wrapped in a soft dough and covered with a bit of powdered sugar.  If you like lemon this is a little bit of heaven!

Try them both – they are simply scrumptious!

(I would have posted photos but Robbi and I ate the subjects.)

Hutto Westphalia Market

28 Dec

The Westphalia Market in Hutto Texas is located at 409 W. Front Street Ste 206 in the Hutto Commons Shopping Center.

The Westphalia Market is a family owned business that specializes in fresh and smoked meats, beef jerky, and all original sausage recipes including the new Hutto Sausage. We provide a personal experience you won’t find anywhere else. All our meat and sausage is made fresh from the best pork and beef in the state of Texas. Westphalia Market in Hutto also has a large selection of groceries including: fresh produce, milk, bread, eggs, canned goods, frozen goods, seasonings, mixes and paper goods. Westphalia Market has everything you need for your BBQ from the freshest cut pork and beef to charcoal and lighter fluid.

Come by and see what a family owned Texas Meat Market is all about.

Editor’s note: The Hutto Sausage is delicious as is the beef jerky. They cut their own meats and make their own sausage, so it is fresh and you can have it your way. When it comes to prices they are very reasonable, and in most cases LESS than Walmart or HEB. If you like fresh meats and are one of the many who has wanted even a small grocery in Hutto – – you got it. Now let’s make sure we support it!

Not Too Early

24 Nov

Not too early to be thinking about New Year’s.

Very Generous!

30 Aug

Donation to Capital Area Food Bank 700+ pounds of Texas food = 600+ meals for hungry Texans. It’s moments like this that make it all worth it.

Sarah, you are an angel and many will appreciate your generosity.

Who is listening in without your knowledge?

27 Aug

Ladies & Gentlemen,

For s few years now I have been attempting to spread the word on “Cell Phone Spyware.”  This is extremely nefarious software that banishes the concept of privacy from whatever part of your life still has some.  If you have a cell phone it can be infected without your knowledge.

Now I have found what is so far the best video that demonstrates in plain language with actual examples of the nature of this sad and crazy software someone has developed. Watch it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCyKcoDaofg

I have checked the link for infections and it is clean.

My next email will explain how it gets on your phone and how to avoid it and also how to find out if it is already on your phone.

Good Day,

Mike

In Hutto, Texas, when you join the Hutto Chamber of Commerce as a Gold Member, you show your support for the community by placing a 780-pound concrete hippo (the city’s mascot) at your business.

Earlier this year, Waste Management, which operates the Williamson County Landfill in Hutto, hosted a contest for students and neighbors to submit their ideas for painting the landfill hippo.  The judges were looking for the entry that best illustrated environmental protection and creativity.

Nine-year-old Samantha Steadman of Williamson County won the contest with her entry: “It’s Hip to be GREEN” that uses the 3-Rs logo for Recycle, Reduce and Reuse.  Samantha’s design was selected among more than 20 entries by a panel of judges that included Hutto Mayor Debbie Holland, Williamson County Commissioner Ron Morrison and Waste Management Landfill Manager Jason Kjar.

Very refreshing!

Fresh, home made lemonade with just the right tartness is now at Mario’s in downtown Hutto. It is so good, so refreshing, – –  it’s addictive.
